The Island

Tom wakes on a train he has no memory of boarding and is shocked to find that the tracks go through the middle of a vast ocean. The train then arrives at a place called the Island, where he discovers that he and all of the inhabitants are suicides, and that this is a place between the last world and the next. Everyone on the Island is assigned a job, and Tom becomes the new short order cook at the diner. There he meets Olive, the beautiful but tragic waitress, and comes to realize that if two people are meant to meet and be together, nothing in this world or the next can separate them. He also comes to realize after hearing the many tragic stories of the suicides in this strange place that the Island is not a place of punishment, but a second chance, even for love.
