The Kite" and Other Stories

This is a collection of some of Somerset Maugham's finest stories. The longest, "The Kite", is the subtle story of a young man's obsessive attachment to kite-flying. The others include a spy story set in Switzerland, a ghost story set in Spain, a character sketch of an Italian fisherman, and a story of a man who on the day he was to be married ran away from the girl who had come six thousand miles to marry him.
